How to study with it

Most O-Level students get more from the book if they use it with the exam in mind from the start:

• Read the syllabus first and mark which chapters match each section of it.
• Work through the end-of-lesson exercises in writing, not only in your head. Written answers are what the exam tests.
• Keep a short list of Arabic terms with their meanings as you go. Terms such as tawheed, sunnah and ijma come up again and again.
• Learn the short Quran passages and hadith the book explains, since exam questions often ask you to quote and explain them.
• In the last months before the exam, switch to past papers and use the book to check and fill in your answers.

Teachers can use the chapters as a year plan and set the exercises as homework. Parents helping at home can use the exercises to check how much of each lesson has been understood.
