About the translators

Hafiz Salah-ud-Din Yousaf was born in Jaipur, India, in August 1945 and died in Lahore on 12 July 2020. He is best known for Tafsir Ahsan-ul-Bayan, and he also wrote the Urdu commentary on Riyad-us-Saliheen. With Maulana Abdul Jabbar he prepared the Urdu translation of the Quranic verses used in Darussalam's Urdu Tafsir Ibn Kathir, the same partnership behind this word-by-word edition.
