Description

The Biography of Imam Zaid ibn Thaabit (may Allah be pleased with him) by Darussalam is a detailed volume of the life of a noble companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It features valuable lessons from the life of Imam Zaid ibn Thaabit (may Allah be pleased with him) who managed to secure great success in knowledge, action and the spreading of Islam.

His name was Zaid bin Thabit bin Zahak, his surname was Abu Saeed and he belonged to the Khazraj tribe. He was born 11 years before Hijrah.

Hazrat Zaid (RA) is one of the greatest Muftis of his time and scholar. Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani says; "He was one of those six Sahaba who gave Fatwava۔ He was a great expert in his duties"

When the Holy Prophet (SAW) visited Madinah, he was very young at that time, And before his arrival, He says I remembered 17 Surahs and I recited Surah Kaaf to the Prophet (peace be upon him). His memory was so sharp that in fifteen days he learned Hebrew. All of the scholars, teachers, his peers, and his students were emulating him. He was Jalil-ul-Qadr Sahabi and in the time of Siddiqui he did the work of compilation of Quran. So he was called as a writer of revelation and he memorized many hadiths orally. And in the time of Hazrat Uthman he made more copies of it and sent it to other areas. He memorized many hadiths orally.

Hazrat Urrva were in his disciples there and they collected his hadiths and their son also to collect from it. They used to write and read the letters of the Holy Prophet and before that, it was the duty of the Jews.He was a great jurist۔ It is written in Sahih Bukhari, that once the people of Madinah asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas about the problem, And there was another saying of him and another saying of Hazrat Zaid, The people of Madinah said that it is not possible for us to abandon the words of Hazrat Zayd and take his words. He died in the year 45A.H.

At the age of 56. While he died, Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that a great scholar has passed away from this world. Hazrat Ibn Abbas said this on his death "anyone who wants to know how knowledge arises from the world should look at the death of Hazrat Zaid and see that today the knowledge of the world is buried".

In of his sayings which he wrote the following beautiful words to Ubayy ibn Ka'b-may Allaah be pleased with him: "Allaah made the tongue an interpreter of the heart. He made the heart a vessel that submits to the tongue. If the heart had been created at the side of the tongue, the word would be harmonious and the tongue would not have any error or defect. There is no discernment for a person, whose tongue is not led by his heart.

If a person measures his word against his deed, the purpose for which he uttered the word will be achieved. Have you ever seen a stingier person than the one who is generous with the word but miserly with the deed?! This is because; he puts his tongue before his heart. Will anyone respect a person who does not keep his words?!

The one who sees imperfections of others and neglects his own imperfections is like someone who takes upon himself what he is not required of him." This book tells us about the biography of Islamic heroes, their living style, manner, character, God-fearing, simplicity, and status .

Everyone wants to make their life good, and want to get a good status, so the question is how we get this? We should study their life, similar books such as Zaid ibn Thaabat, Sufyan Ath-Thauree , Imam Bukhari , Biography of imam Abu Dawood, etc.
